Small businesses want to stay up-to-date
In all cities and countries around the world, the same thing happens. Over the years, large stores, large brands, large companies with cheaper prices (thanks to their huge levels of production) eat the roles of small businesses that cannot cover so much demand and the offers that large companies can make.
Giving rise to that, increasingly small shops of all kinds, some that have been around for centuries, are losing customers and end up being taken over by larger companies or directly closing their doors. And with them dying part of the essence of each place dies along with them.
In Barcelona, more than a year ago, an application was created where they help small businesses fight back and come back to our streets. Another opportunity for our neighborhood stores.

Thanks to this app manzaning.com you can find all kinds of shops taking advantage, from pharmacies, fruit and stationery shops through bakeries or fishmongers, to perfumeries, florists, hardware stores, or dry cleaners. You can get a more detailed idea of this by seeing the many small stores that are lined up through our neighborhoods. Have you noticed now that once again we can buy meat from a local butcher, fruit and veggies form a local fruit shop?
This app works throughout Barcelona and is gradually expanding to the surrounding municipalities, such as Sant Just.

Imagine being able to buy quality local products, and at the same time help the economy of your neighborhood. Together, them and us can grow together once again.
So, how does it work?
It goes by the name of Manzaning and it works in the following way: You download the app and start looking for the stores that you like, then you choose the products and if you want you can write to them so that the sellers can advise you on which product will go best for your recipe (if it’s a food shop for example). Then you place your order and give your coordinates, that is, your address where you want it delivered.

If you are a merchant or you have a small neighborhood business and you want to reach more people or just update yourself, they also give you the opportunity to enter the app and update your profiles etc. This app helps you take the step. It’s an app where we all win.
We like it because the economy of the neighborhood grows because Barcelona is rich in gastronomic culture and at the same time promote the small shops that are struggling to survive.
