Craving for an ice cream?

Delicious looking ice creams in a pot

If one thinks of an ice cream, it’s fair to give all the credit to the Italians. Gelato is the best tasteful experience if you are more into sweets. Fortunately, in Barcelona we have several ice cream parlors (con il sapore e l’anima italiana) to appease the cravings. Check some of our favorites.

1. DelaCrem

(@delacrembcn). Right in the corner of Enric Granados and Consell de Cent, this artisan ice cream parlor in L’Eixample is always crowded. It is a small and cozy, and their ice creams elaborated by Massimo Pignata are made with ingredients 100% naturals. I think I’ve tried all the flavors they had, and I can tell you this: all of them are DE-LI-CIOUS, and the texture is perfect!! It is definitely worth a try; you won’t regret it and will want return.

2. Gelaaati di Marco

(@gelaaati). Located in the Gothic Quarter, this ice cream shop offers natural fruit sorbets, espresso yogurt, low sugar ice creams, extra creamy ice creams, gluten free, lactose free, vegan and organic milk ice cream. Several options so there are no excuses not to be tempted by this place, another italian gelato experience. (Llibreteria 7, Barcelona).

3. Rocambolesc

(@rrrocambolesc). The most famous one is at Girona, but this year, the Roca Clan opened the 4th shop at Liceu (the other branches are in Platja d’Aro and Madrid). This ice cream shop is really cool for adventorus people, able to try a new flavor experience, because Rocambolesc offers ice cream either sweet or salty –yep, you read it right-. If you are more in to classic, don’t worry, you will always find vanilla and chocolate, but if you’re willing nex experiences, then you can try asparragus and truffles, parmesan, or beer ice cream.

4. Paral.Lelo

(@parallelogelato). Tasty and more healthy, these four Italians friends from San Remo (Matteo, Gianluca, Marco y Francesco), created Paral.Lelo a world to experiment new flavors. The artisanal ice creams are made with seasonal products, so you take the most of its taste. As in Rocambolesc, in Paral.Lelo they like to experiment with edgy combinations, for example, basil & pineapple, yogurt & curry, blue cheese with nuts, or ham & pumpkin (we definitely have to try that one). You can find them in C/ Seneca 18 IN Grácia.

5. Sirvent

(@Sirventbarcelona). It is a multi-gastronomic traditional space, which exists since 1920. It is well known for its horchata (beverage made from tigernuts, water and sugar), ice creams and ‘turrones’. It is possible to get smoothies and iced fruity shakes. It is always crowded, which is a sign that it’s worth the visit.
