Things to do in Barcelona during the Easter

The Easter holidays are finally here, many take the opportunity to leave the city, while others stay to enjoy all the activities offered by the city of Barcelona.

Whether you are religious or not, the Easter holidays are a great opportunity to attend activities that are ideal for all ages and all nationalities. Here are some of them that we share with you, to make the most of your holidays in Barcelona.

On Good Friday, Vía Crucis, we suggest you to go to the Barcelona Cathedral, where you can listen to the Sermón de las Siete Palabras. Then, let’s visit the inside of the Cathedral, while enjoying the special atmosphere that reigns there during the Holy week.

During your visit to Barcelona, do not forget to sample the Easter cake, better known as the Mona, an everlasting Easter sweet tradition which you can find in many pastry shops of the city. Stroll through the alleys of Barcelona and admire the pastries windows, specially decorated for Easter. Shop windows display real works of art made of cakes and chocolate, their magic and fantasy will leave young and old alike amazed.

We also suggest you to leave the city for a day trip through the Collserola Park, Vallvidrera and the Aigues Road. You can also have a nice stroll to the Prat del Llobregat Park, have a picnic there while looking at the plane taking off. A great opportunity to explore the surroundings of the city.
